Troy Moore joins Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic Physical Therapy department

Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic has announced that Troy Moore, DPT, has joined their Physical Therapy department. Moore is a manually trained physical therapist, treating the whole person, head to toe. He cares for patients of all ages, practicing all aspects of sports medicine; post-surgical rehab for all types of surgery, including hip- and knee replacement and rotator cuff repair; cervical, lumbar, and thoracic pain of the spine; and can help injured or ill patients improve movement and manage pain.

“I love being able to watch an athlete compete or a patient resume their favorite activities and hobbies after working with them,” Moore explains. “I’m a physical therapist to help people feel better, and I enjoy helping people make long-lasting changes to improve their long-term functionality. Building a personal relationship with them is key so I can better understand their needs and can get them up and going in their favorite things, whether that is a sport, a hobby, a job, or just life in general.”

Patients seeing Moore should expect to be involved in their care. “I want patients to expect three things when they come in for an appointment: 1) they’ll learn what is going on; 2) they’ll understand what we’re going to do to fix it; and 3) we’ll determine how long it will take,” describes Moore. “You should always be educated on and involved in the healing process.”

“We are excited to have Troy join our team,” reports Kile Magner, Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic CEO. “He cares for his patients and involves them in their care, and he practices the newest physical therapy interventions. It’s a great fit, and patients can continue to expect great care from our whole team in the Physical Therapy department.”

Moore received his undergraduate Bachelors of Science in Sports Medicine degree from Emporia State University, in Emporia, Kan. and his Masters of Science in Physical Therapy degree from Wichita State University, in Wichita, Kan. He graduated with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Regis University, in Denver, Colo. He is a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist and has practiced general and sports-related physical therapy and rehabilitation for over 20 years in central Kansas.
