Kaylee Harris joins Ellinwood Clinic

Ellinwood Hospital and Clinic has announced the addition of a new provider at the Ellinwood Clinic – Kaylee Harris, APRN. Harris joined the Clinic in November 2020 and is accepting new and established patients who would like to transfer their care.

“My patients can expect to be treated like family by me,” explains Harris when describing her philosophy of care. “I will leave my mark on this earth by the lives I positively affect in healthcare. Treating patients like I would treat my family is the framework for the way I practice medicine. I strive to be thorough, detailed, and compassionate while being enthusiastic and friendly at the same time.”

“Kaylee is a great addition to our clinic,” reports Meredith Joiner, RN, clinic manager. “She is an excellent clinician and performed rotations at our clinic. We are excited to have her join our family.”

While she was performing her clinical rotations, Harris followed Dr. Christopher Brown and knew early into the process that Ellinwood was meant for her. “The providers, nursing staff, clinic and hospital staff are all caring people. The patient population is what is the icing on the cake.” Harris chose Ellinwood for her practice because her soon-to-be husband is from Barton County and she is originally from a small town. She and her fiancé have always wanted to raise their future family in a small town.

Harris is Board Certified with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. She received her undergraduate Bachelors of Nursing (BSN) degree from the University of Saint Mary, in Leavenworth, Kan., in 2016 and graduated with her Masters of Nursing (MSN) degree from the University of Central Missouri, in Warrensburg, Mo., in 2020.

Harris cares for patients of all ages as a family nurse practitioner. This includes newborn infants through the elderly. She manages hypertension, diabetes, musculoskeletal injuries and complaints, allergies, sleep disorders, mental health conditions, obesity and weight management, urgent care, respiratory conditions like asthma and COPD, acute illness, bladder, gastrointestinal, well-woman care, skin disorders, and preventive health care.
